Fabrication of Constructional Composite Materials Based on Powder Polymer Binders

  • Chapter
Book cover Developments in the Science and Technology of Composite Materials

Abstract

Composite materials, based on continuous fiber fillers and polymer binders stand among the most durable contemporary constructional materials (according to their specific characteristics). Application of a wide range of thermosetting and thermoplastic polymer binders and reinforcing fillers(carbon-, glass-, organic fibers and their combinations) promote achieving polymer articles of various exploitation properties. For all this, the range of their properties depends on the method of combining different components at the stage of prepreg formation.
