Abstract

This chapter focuses on the creation of the Federal University of Tocantins (UFT) in the Legal Brazilian Amazon region. We present the main lines of a systemic vision related to the subject as a strategy for locating readers in the big picture and motivating new approaches to problems and questions intrinsic to the object itself. First of all, we must ask: Why is the creation of the UFT regarded as a unique event in the national and international scene?
