Abstract

Total about 45 underground nuclear explosions with various purposes were performed in salt formations. In the USSR during 1966 to 1984 were conducted 41 explosion experiments with the purpose of creation of stable cavities and technology development for transuranium elements production. Energy yield of the explosions was 0.01 ÷ 100 kiloton.
