Abstract
It is safe to argue that intentionality has been, and perhaps still is, one of the most controversial issues in contemporary philosophy. The reasons that explain this fact seem to be epistemological as well as historical. Plainly, the epistemological reasons are closely related to the very nature of the manifold problems raised by what we call “intentional phenomena”.
