FormalPara VerdiensteRomanowsky entwickelte im Jahr 1891 in St. Petersburg eine neue Färbetechnik mit einer Mixtur aus Eosin Y und Methylenblau (Romanowsky-Färbung). Durch Weiterentwicklung dieser Methode entstanden die Färbungen nach Wright, Leishman und Giemsa (Giemsa-Lösung).
