Zusammenfassung

Die Skoliose ist eine strukturelle dreidimensionale Wirbelsäulendeformität bestehend aus einer Seitverbiegung in der Koronarebene, einer Torsion (Verdrehung der Wirbel gegeneinander, aber auch der Gesamtwirbelsäule) in der Transversalebene und einer Störung des sagittalen Profils (Kyphose, Lordose). Als neuromuskuläre Skoliose wird eine atypische Verkrümmung der Wirbelsäule verursacht durch eine primäre Dysfunktion des Nervensystems (neuropathisch) oder der Muskulatur (myopathisch) bezeichnet.
