Zusammenfassung
Der Artikel untersucht das seit einigen Jahren vermehrt in der psychiatrischen und klinischpsychologischen Fachöffentlichkeit diskutierte Phänomen der ‚Nebenwirkungen‘ von Psychotherapie. Anhand exemplarischer Publikationen aus dem angloamerikanischen und deutschen Sprachraum werden die rhetorischen Strategien und Denkfiguren herausgearbeitet, die den Diskurs auf einer fundamentalen Ebene strukturieren, um darauf aufbauend nach der gegenwärtigen Lage und Logik des klinisch ausgerichteten „psy-complex“ (Rose, 1998) zu fragen. Die rezente Hinwendung zu Nebenwirkungen erweist sich aus dieser Perspektive als Effekt und logische Folge von Therapeutisierungsprozessen, in deren Kern die Disziplinen Psychiatrie und Klinische Psychologie – mit ihren jeweiligen Dynamiken und (Konkurrenz-)Positionen – angesiedelt sind. Zugleich lässt sich die Art und Weise, wie Nebenwirkungen konzeptualisiert werden, als fortschreitende Medikalisierung des Psychischen fassen – mit ambivalenten Effekten, die zu einer kritischen Reflexion einladen.
