Zusammenfassung
Im Lichte konstanter, durch Medien getriebener Transformationen von Musikwirtschaft- und Musikkultur verändern sich die Kontexte, in denen und die Praktiken, durch die Musik produziert, verteilt und genutzt wird. Um solche Prozesse zu erkennen und zu analysieren sowie um zu verstehen, was diese für die Leute bedeuten, die an und in ihnen arbeiten, schlägt dieser Artikel eine Methodologie vor, die Musikwirtschaft als materiell im Stile von Praxistheorien und kulturell im Stile der Cultural Studies untersucht. Vorgeschlagen wird Praxistheorie als ein Startpunkt, um die transformierende Musikkultur anhand ihrer Praktiken zu untersuchen, die die Grenzen von Musikproduzierenden, -organisationen, -medien, Bands, ProsumentInnen oder Fans kreuzen und transzendieren. Anschließend wird die Methodologie der Multi-Sited-Ethnography vorgestellt, die dieser Art von kultureller Musikwirtschaftsforschung entspricht. Der Artikel schließt mit einem Vorschlag von Methoden und Werkzeugen, um die so produzierten Daten zu interpretieren und plädiert für eine Öffnung zu den Media Studies.
