Abstract

This paper describes a novel haptic display keypad composed a flexible visio-haptic display. We have developed a thin 3x3 flexible visual display and an actuator array. A flexible actuator has nine EAP (Electro Active Polymer) actuator cells providing normal dynamic movement. Moreover, a transparent and flexible display is identically designed with 3x3 array pattern to fit the 3x3 actuator. Thus, it provides for users haptic feedback such as key pressing, contact vibration controlling actuators according to touch events.
