Zusammenfassung

Bei der Rhizarthrose handelt es sich meist um eine idiopathische Arthrose des Daumensattelgelenks, an der häufig Frauen im mittleren Alter erkranken. Selten tritt die Rhizarthrose posttraumatisch auf. Die Röntgenuntersuchung ist hilfreich, sowohl bei der Diagnosestellung als auch bei der Therapieplanung. Die konservative als auch die operative Therapie spielen in der Behandlung der Rhizarthrose eine wichtige Rolle. Ziel der Therapie ist die Schmerzreduktion, bei größtmöglicher Erhaltung der Beweglichkeit und Kraft.
