Abstract

The article presents the most important changes introduced by the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation). The processing of personal data takes place in various spheres of economic and social activity, including public administration. The article presents results of the Computer Aided Web Interview (CAWI) survey that has been conducted among local government administration offices in Poland between March and April 2018. On the basis of the conducted survey, an assessment the General Data Protection Regulation readiness for local government administration was performed and presented.
