Psychosexual Counseling in Andrological Surgery

Abstract

Testicular cancer raises many questions in treatment, study, and research not only regarding clinical issues but also the emotional, sexual, and neurovegetative aspects of the patient, not to mention neuropsychological findings and long-term cognitive findings of post-traumatic stress, especially in patients treated with one or more cycles of chemotherapy. Psychosexology cannot avoid considering these aspects from the moment the patient is first treated (at the time of diagnosis) and establishing an individualized long-term rehabilitation project with the medical, surgical, and nursing teams.
