Abstract
Fecal incontinence has a significant impact on the quality of life for affected patients. Affecting predominantly women, multiparity, previous anorectal surgery, obesity, and chronic diarrhea are risk factors. Dietary modification is likely the most significant factor. Surgical options are limited, but even measures such as colostomy can significantly improve the quality of life for patients with severe incontinence.
