Abstract
Families are profoundly affected by the critical illness of a loved one. Family members face both physical and psychological challenges during this difficult time. In this chapter, this experience is described by two who journeyed through the ICU and the post-ICU syndrome with people they love. They detail the anxiety, stress, and sleep deprivation endured by families.
