Abstract
Instructs clinicians providing PCIT-T treatment with a basic overview regarding a therapeutic room setup for sessions including preparation of play on the floor between the caregiver and toddler. This includes information related to room safety with electrical outlets and furniture placement as well as clean carpeting. The use of appropriate developmental toys to engage toddlers and parents in play is also presented along with a toy recommendation handout and need for toy sanitation. Special considerations are also provided regarding appointment scheduling, coaching during transitions with caregivers, and recognizing that referrals are commonly needed to other specialized providers (e.g., pediatricians, audiologists, ophthalmologists, speech and language pathologists, and regional centers, etc.).
