The original version of the book was inadvertently published without incorporating the following corrections:

• 1. In the copyright acknowledgements, the line “With continued thanks to Carcanet for permission to use extracts from The Glacial Stairway, by Peter Riley (Manchester: Carcanet, 2011) in Owen Bullock’s essay.” should be included at the end of the following paragraph:

  “With thanks to Ian Seed, for “Nonsense and Wonder: The Prose Poems of Jeremy Over” which appeared as a much shorter, earlier version in Tears in the Fence, 63. Permission granted by the author, also the editor of Tears in the Fence. With thanks also to Carcanet Press for kind permission to use extracts from Jeremy Over’s first collection, A Little Bit of Bread and No Cheese (Manchester: Carcanet, 2001) and Over’s second collection, Deceiving Wild Creatures (Manchester: Carcanet, 2009).”

• 2. In acknowledgements, the text “Michelle Golder” should be added after “Lindsay Fursland”.

• 3. In Chapter 2, affiliation “Portman Lodge, Durweston, Blandford Forum, UK” of chapter author “David Caddy” should be changed as “Independent Scholar, Bryanston School, Blandford Forum, UK”.

• 4. In Chapter 4, font size of titles of poems “Still”; “From: A Mown Lawn”; “From, ‘The Beginning of the Story: Questions, iii’”; “November 6” should be larger than the poem font.

• 5. In Chapter 6, page 105, the lines

  Verse

  Verse “Father gave me Mr Lowell’s poems

  Verse

  Verse exciting and splendid. If I was a poet

  Verse

  Verse I type wrote Dorothea’s poems”

  should be added before “Finished & despatched Dorethea’s poems…”

• 6. In Chapter 7, affiliation “LLM, University of Liège, Liège, Liège, Belgium” of chapter author “M. Delville” should be changed as “University of Liège, Liège, Belgium”.

• 7. In Chapter 11, reference

• 10. In Chapter 14, footnote 41, “Peter Riley, The Glacial Stairway (Manchester: Carcanet, 2011), 8; references to this text will be given in parenthesis hereafter.” should be changed as “Peter Riley, The Glacial Stairway (Manchester: Carcanet, 2011), 8, https://www.carcanet.co.uk/cgi-bin/indexer?product=9781847770790, references hereafter in parenthesis.”

The book has been now updated with the changes.
