Abstract

We have seen in the previous sections that neutrino oscillation experiments allow us to obtain the values of the neutrino mass-squared differences. Information about the absolute values of the neutrino masses can be inferred from experiments on the precise measurement of the kinematics of decays of different particles, from cosmological data and from experiments on the measurement of the neutrinoless double β-decay.

Notes

  1. 1.

Let us notice that in the case of the neutrino mixing the states of the flavor neutrinos ν e , ν μ , ν τ are not states with definite masses. However, if the spectrum of the neutrino masses is degenerate (\(m_{i}\gg \sqrt {\varDelta m_{A}^{2}}\simeq 2.5\cdot 10^{-2}~\mathrm {eV}^{2}\)) only common (minimal) neutrino mass m min can be determined from experiments on the investigation of different decays.
