Abstract

Improvements in imaging equipment have allowed for marked advances in biopsy-related minimally invasive procedures. Accuracy and success rates have improved dramatically. Additionally, improvements in device development have allowed for better yield of tissue during biopsy procedures. With the advent of genomics and targeted therapies for cancer, the need for accurate biopsy of suspected cancer lesions will continue to grow in the near future.
