Abstract

The volume of shoulder arthroplasty is increasing and with it the risk of complications and subsequent revision surgery. A detailed understanding of the principles of shoulder biomechanics, arthroplasty and of your chosen implant are essential to ensure optimal outcomes. Understanding the potential complications of this complex surgery, helps both minimise the likelihood of them occurring but also managing them effectively should they occur.
