Abstract

Fractures of the distal forearm have an incidence of 37 out of 10,000 females and 9 out of 100,000 males and are among the most frequent fractures of the adult population above the age of 35 years. In younger adults below the age of 39 years, high-energy trauma is more frequent, leading to a higher percentage of additional carpal ligamentous injuries. In this chapter reduction and fixation techniques of distal radius fractures will be discussed.
