Abstract

In this chapter, we will learn how to build ratings models using Super Decisions v3. This software version is particularly useful for ratings models. It may be useful to review the theoretical discussion of ratings models in a previous chapter titled “Understanding ratings models.” Here we will focus on the how-to aspects of using Super Decisions for ratings models. Readers are encouraged to review the Super Decisions documentation provided by the software developer (http://www.creativedecisions.net).

Notes

  1. 1.

In other words, the prioritization of criteria is done via pairwise comparison in both relative and ratings models .

  2. 2.

This is the key difference between relative and ratings models. In relative models , the prioritization of alternatives is done via pairwise comparison but in ratings models the prioritization of alternatives is done by rating each alternative using a rating scale (called categories) for each of the criteria.

  3. 3.

The rating scale developed for each criterion is called “categories” in previous versions of the Super Decisions software.

  4. 4.

After entering the last value, it is always good practice to click on a different cell value to ensure your last value entered was indeed updated by the system.
