Abstract

This Chapter covers Messier Objects from M37 to M74, including some spectacular objects and some less spectacular! Of the spectacular objects the first ones to spring to mind are Messier 42, the Orion Nebula and the extremely popular Messier 45, the Pleiades star cluster, a must for every star party, also Messier 51 the first galaxy shown to have a spiral structure and Messier 57 the famous Ring Nebula. On the less spectacular side there is Messier 40 which is simply two stars and Messier 73 which consists of only 3 or 4 stars in a small group.
