Abstract
Choledochal cysts (CDC) are fairly rare congenital anomalies involving cystic dilation of the biliary tree. Manifestations consist of jaundice, abdominal pain, cholangitis, pancreatitis, and an abdominal mass. Due to the potential complications and possible malignant transformation of the CDC, complete resection of the cyst with hepatico-enteric anastomosis is the standard treatment. Traditionally, this was performed through a right subcostal incision. However, minimally invasive techniques have become increasingly utilized, and laparoscopic CDC excision has shown good success with minimal complications.
