Abstract

A motion that repeats itself regularly is called a periodic motion. It is the most frequently encountered type of motion in nature, in our daily lives and in technology. The oscillation of a pendulum, the vibration of a guitar string, our heartbeats or the vibration of our vocal cords, the ebb and tide of the sea, etc. Even an object at rest is made of vibrating atoms.
