Abstract
The safety of the steering wheel LCD screen is quite worrisome under normal situations or accidents. There is a worry that the screen breaks and hurt driver under the instant compressive stress of the airbag. This report integrates two analysis methods in both human factors and engineer factors, to find the visual influences and verify screen stability of the steering wheel LCD screen in normal situations and some accidents. The result helps to find out the safety of the steering wheel LCD screen. In the beginning, it comes with an ergonomic analysis to do the driver vision analysis to test the influences on the driver vision. Furthermore, the finite element analysis (FEA) about the steering wheel screen gives a preliminary conclusion about the stability of LCD screen in an accident to provide a foundation for future research and application.
