Abstract
It is helpful for the medical consultant to have an understanding of the operative approach, duration of surgery, estimated blood loss, and common surgical complications for frequently encountered surgical procedures. This chapter provides an overview of common general, orthopedic, gynecologic, urologic, vascular, and other surgical procedures from a medical (rather than a surgical) perspective.
