Abstract
Just when I once again thought this book was complete, and even “artistically” flavored with a touch of symmetry, I received a fascinating progress report from Kathy—the gifted woman whose amazing self-description filled Chap. 6. Despite Kathy’s incredible ability to describe her dyslexic symptoms, I initially considered leaving her therapeutic responses out—to symbolize the unknowns and the open-ended nature of this and all other clinical research efforts.

Notes
- 1.
This book was initially begun many years ago and then put away for quite awhile. Thus, it includes just a few patients from the first version—Kathy being one of them. So her favorable response appeared at the end of my first draft. Needless to say, this new version is completely different and contains mostly new patients and my latest insights. Older patients were included for several reasons: They were especially interesting and informative and so provided a natural bridge to the present. And most importantly—I promised to include them when this book was completed. As you may remember from my Brooklyn beginning—I learned to forever remember and respect altruism and loyalty. This is my payback and respect for my patients’ altruism.
