Abstract
“Accreditation is both a process and a status” (CHEA 2012). Accredited or accreditation status is granted to programs that meet or exceed the established standard of educational quality for training and education. It ensures quality assurance, as discussed in Chapter 1, “Introduction”. Accreditation presents a strong value proposition; however, as a process, it can be a daunting endeavor. Navigating through an accreditation journey requires planning, diligence and patience. Chapter 14, the final chapter introduces the preliminary steps to the accreditation process. The standards for meeting accreditation requirements are reviewed; considerations for selecting an accrediting body are discussed; and finally, resources and tips for success in the accreditation process are presented.
