Abstract

This article presents an energy study during the year associated with the results of two solar water heating systems with flat plate collectors (FPC) and evacuated tube collectors (ETC) operating in the Middle East and North Africa region. Annual simulations are performed using the TRNSYS software by considering a typical meteorological year (TMY) for all countries in the MENA region. Energy efficiency between these systems was compared on a daily, monthly and annual basis. It is discovered that high estimations of solar fraction and gatherer efficiency can be come to in studied regions with the preference of utilizing (ETC).
