Pectus Excavatum Remodelling by CAD Custom-Made Silicone Implant: Experience of 600 Cases

  • Chapter
Book cover Pectus Excavatum and Poland Syndrome Surgery

Abstract

Pectus excavatum is the most common thoracic deformity, often familial [1]. The incidence thereof is 1/300 to 1/1000 births and the sex ratio 3:1 to 5:1 in the literature, 6:4 in our experience due to the success of women’s and asymmetric case treatments. In the absence of any cardiac or respiratory impairment, the condition is a mere morphological deformation, but with a strong psychological impact for most of the authors [2–8].
