Abstract

Our goal of this chapter is to understand how to solve first order linear difference equations explicitly (by induction) and to study the periodic traits and patterns of first order linear difference equations. In addition, we will break up this chapter into three sections: Periodic Solutions of First Order Linear Homogeneous Difference Equations, First Order Nonhomogeneous Difference Equations, and First Order Nonautonomous Linear Difference Equations.
