Abstract

South American countries are developing adaptation strategies, policies, and programs to sustain national economies and local livelihoods in the face of climate changes. However, major challenges exist that are limiting their adaptive capacity. This chapter discusses current adaptation strategies and new approaches required to minimize the social impacts of climate change across South America.
