Abstract
Injuries to the teeth and their supporting structures comprise approximately 5% of all injuries. However, in many patients, management may be delayed, or other injuries may prevent their comprehensive care. Whilst treatment can be initiated at or soon after the initial time of injury (e.g. splinting of loose teeth and dressing of exposed pulps), these are often ‘temporising’ measures. Further treatment will still be required once the patient is well enough. Some of these will be discussed.
