Abstract

Using the synthesis approach of Manna and Waldinger, a TTL-like control circuitery has been derived from a predicate logic specification with explicit time and space. Emphasis has been put on a modelling close to the informal requirements description, including mechanical and geometrical issues, and stating the liveness condition of the cell as the topmost goal. The experience has been made that using a non-discrete time model neccessarily implies modelling continous time and continous motion functions. In a second attempt, two domain-specific logical operators have been defined as higher-order predicates that schematise frequent patterns in specification and proof and hence allow a concise and expressive presentation.
