Abstract

All anatomical atlases of wood clearly demonstrate genetic differences between taxa, however, also the degree of variability within families differs greatly. Some families are very heterogeneous (8.1-8.4), others are homogeneous (8.8-8.10). Here, we demonstrate this fact using simple wood anatomical features of herbaceous plant shoots from the Ranunculaceae, tree stems from the Oleaceae, and shrub stems from the Labiatae.
