Abstract

Mobile ad-hoc networks are suitable for collaborative applications, whose objective is to reach a common goal through the cooperation of the members involved. These networks have to be trustworthy in message delivery and fault-tolerant. We developed two different frameworks to satisfy these needs, and evaluated the performance of each network. This paper describes both frameworks and the results obtained from the experiments. We observed important differences between the networks in the results. This is explained by the two different development environments used, C++ and .NET, and the specificity versus generality of the frameworks. Combining the advantages of both frameworks could present a platform that satisfies all the needs for mobile collaborative activities.
