About the authors
Professor Vitaliy Shpachuk is a Visiting Professor in Newcastle University Business School, and a British Academy Research Fellow, and a member of the Researchers at Risk learning and development committee formed by the British Academy and CRAC-Vitae. Professor Shpachuk also serves as a Professor of Public Administration and Economics at V.I Vernadsky Tavrida National University (Ukraine), and a member of the Scientific Council of the International Center for Research on Safe Economic Development of the State University, Uzhhorod National University“ (Ukraine), and an advisor of the President of the Association of Ukrainian Banks. Professor Shpachuk specialises in such areas as public administration, international economics and defense, finance, banking, crisis management. He held academic positions in Ukraine and prior to his academic career, he worked in banking (in management positions at the National Bank of Ukraine and commercial banks) and consulting. He holds a PhD degree in Public administration from National Academy of Public Administration under the President of Ukraine, a Doctor of science degree from Academy of Municipal Administration (Ukraine) and a Professor of Public Administration and Economics from V.I Vernadsky Tavrida National University (Ukraine).
Dr Vu Trinh is an Associate Professor in Finance (*Senior Lecturer) at Newcastle University Business School, Newcastle University (United Kingdom), and co-leads a research cluster on finance, governance, and sustainability. Dr Trinh also serves as a Deputy Director of the Finance and Banking Network within AVSE Global and has extensive editorial experience, serving on several editorial boards (e.g., Section/Associate/Guest Editor) and as a referee for numerous prestigious journals. Dr Trinh's research contributes to sustainable finance, banking, and governance, with several publications in top-tier journals (and reports, and authored/ edited books) such as the British Journal of Management, Annals of Tourism Research, Journal of Financial Stability, European Journal of Finance, Journal of International Financial Markets, Institutions and Money, International Review of Financial Analysis, International Journal of Finance and Economics, Accounting Forum, Energy Economics, Abacus, Review of Quantitative Finance and Accounting, and Business Strategy and the Environment. Dr Trinh's research findings have been presented at prestigious conferences, including the IFABS Oxford Conference, the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA), the Financial Management Association (FMA), and the European Accounting Association (EAA). Currently, Dr Trinh is collaborating with experts from the University of Oxford, University of Southampton, University of Huddersfield, etc., and industry partners to pursue large funding bids for interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary projects related to sustainability.
