About the editors

Avo Schönbohm is Professor for Business Administration at the Berlin School of Economics and Law / HWR Berlin (Germany) since 2010. His international research expertise lies in the areas of (strategic) performance management, enterprise gamification and digital transformation. He has authored more than 50 publications. International teaching assignments in Vietnam, Poland, France and Switzerland have enriched his teaching style and academic horizon. Prior to joining the HWR Berlin, Avo held various international roles in the machine tool industry, ending his pre-academic career as Vice President Strategic Planning at Voith Paper GmbH with 2bn € sales in 2010. With LUDEO he created a business agency in 2016 to bring game thinking into business life and thus enhance behaviour and performance of organisations in a variety of industries.

Hans Henning von Horsten is a Professor for Industrial Biomanufacturing at HTW-Berlin-University of Applied Sciences (Germany) and Founding Dean of theFaculty of Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology at the German International University of Applied Sciences in Cairo (Egypt) . Currently, he is serving as the deputy manager for the Life Science Management study program at HTW Berlin. Prior to joining HTW-Berlin he was in charge of project and technology management within the Cell Line Development Business Unit of ProBioGen AG, an internationally operating Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) for the biopharmaceutical industry. In this role, he was among the key inventors of ProBioGen’s GlymaxX antibody engineering technology that was outlicensed to Boehringer-Ingelheim, Novartis, Thermo-Fisher Scientific, Bayer, Roche, Abbvie and several other drug developers. He is co-inventor of several patents for the biomanufacturing business.

Philipp Plugmann has been doing multidisciplinary work for the last 20 years in parallel to practicing as a dentist in his own clinic in Leverkusen (Germany). He is also Full Professor for Interdisciplinary Periodontology and Prevention at SRH University of Applied Health Sciences. His first book on innovation in medical technology published in 2011 was reviewed by Cisco. His second book on innovation published with Springer in 2018 got more than 50,000 chapter downloads in its first fifteen months. Previously, he held multiple adjunct faculty appointments for more than twelve years and has won multiple teaching awards. He also holds an MBA, a MSc in Business Innovation, a MSc in Periodontology and Implant Therapy (DGParo) and is currently pursuing his third doctorate. Plugmann has given research talks in the field of innovation at Conferences at Harvard Business School, Berkeley Haas School of Business, Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition, and Nanyang Tech University, Singapore. Philipp Plugmann is a serial entrepreneur and advisor to several companies, including a global technology consultancy - DataArt.

Moritz von Stosch is a thought leader in the area of hybrid modeling for bioprocess development and manufacturing. He is the co-author of more than 40 scientific publications, including the Book “Hybrid Modelling in Process Industries”. He is the Chief Innovation Officer at DataHow AG and Managing Director of DataHow LDA (Switzerland). Prior to joining DataHow, Moritz led the Process Systems Biology & Engineering Centre of Excellence at GSK Vaccines, for which he received an Innovation Performance and Trust award and was nominated a change catalyst. He lectured at Newcastle University (England), holds a PhD in Biochemical Engineering from University of Porto (Portugal) and received a Dipl.Ing. in Chemical Engineering from RWTH Aachen University (Germany).
