About this book

The book is a collection of peer-reviewed scientific papers submitted by active researchers in the 37th National System Conference (NSC 2013). NSC is an annual event of the Systems Society of India (SSI), primarily oriented to strengthen the systems movement and its applications for the welfare of humanity. A galaxy of academicians, professionals, scientists, statesman and researchers from different parts of the country and abroad are invited to attend the conference. The book presents research articles in the areas of system’s modelling, complex network modelling, cyber security, sustainable systems design, health care systems, socio-economic systems, and clean and green technologies. The book can be used as a tool for further research.

About the editors

Dr. Vivek Vijay is an Assistant Professor in Centre of Systems Science at Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur since 2010. He has obtained his doctorate from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in 2007. His areas of specialization include Analysis of Categorical Data and Forecasting of Financial Data. Dr. Vijay has an outstanding academic career and received Gold Medal for the first rank at Post Graduation level. He has also published several articles in peer reviewed international journals.

Dr. Sandeep Kumar Yadav is an Assistant Professor in Centre of Information and Communication Technology at Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur since 2010. He has obtained his doctorate from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur in 2009. His areas of interest are Signal Processing, Condition Monitoring and Fault Diagnosis Using Intelligent Techniques. Dr. Yadav has received Young Scientist Award from Systems Society of India. He has authored a book chapter in Intelligent Autonomous Systems published by Springer and also articles in international journals.

Dr. Bibhas Adhikari is an Assistant Professor in Centre of Systems Science at Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur since 2009. He has obtained his doctorate from Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati in 2009. His areas of interest are Applied Linear Algebra, Optimization Techniques and Network Systems. Dr. Adhikari has received ISBRI fellowship and done his research work at SAM, ETH Zurich, Switzerland in 2008. He has articles in international journals and currently handling two funded research projects by BARC Mumbai and CSIR Delhi. 

Dr. Harinipriya Seshadri is working as principal scientist at NFTDC, Hyderabad since June 2014. She has obtained her doctorate from Indian Institute of Technology Madras in 2003. Her areas of interest are lithium ion batteries, fuel cells, electrodeposition, thermal storage systems, Monte Carlo simulations, materials synthesis andcharacterization. Dr. Seshadri has received NRO fellowship for Postdoctoral Research, Tennessee Technological University, USA; European Union grant for Postdoctoral Research, University of Ulm, Germany; and The Indian National Science Academy (INSA), Young Scientist Award, 2004. She has published more than 40 papers in international journals and Conference Proceedings. 

Dr. Deepak Kumar Fulwani is an Assistant Professor in Centre of Information and Communication Technology at Indian Institute of Technology Jodhpur. He has obtained his doctorate from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in 2009. His areas of interest are Robust Control techniques, Fault diagnosis of networked control system, Control issues in power converters and Robust control techniques with saturated actuators. Dr. Fulwani has been awarded for Excellence in PhD thesis work by IIT Bombay.
