Introduction

The direct determination of elements in solid samples by atomspectrometric methods without prior digestion is in many cases more efficient and reliable, faster, easier, more cost-effective and less time-consuming than other methods. In this first book on the topic the authors describe concisely all instrumental and methodological features, including calibration, influences from the matrix or sample inhomogeneities, optimisation, data analysis and measurement uncertainty.
