    Hans Sommer

About the author

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hans Sommer. After obtaining his diploma as a civil engineer at the University of Stuttgart and working as designer and site manager at home and abroad, Hans Sommer in 1971 became project manager and then, in 1974, partner of a corporation that a few years later became known as Drees & Sommer. Today, the corporation is market leader in Germany for project management, real estate consulting and engineering . From 1992 to 2007, Sommer was Chairman of the Executive Board of Drees & Sommer AG which employs a staff of over 1000 at 26 international locations. With his approach of integral project management, he defi ned essential developments in the building industry. At the beginning of the year 2008, he changed to the Supervisory Board of Drees & Sommer AG, where he became Chairman and, aside from his consulting tasks, dedicated himself intensely to the topic of sustainability in the real estate and building industries as well as to knowledge, ideas and innovation management.
