About these proceedings

Introduction

This book constitutes the thoroughly refereed post-conference proceedings of the Second International Workshop on Business Intelligence for the Real-Time Enterprise, BIRTE 2008, held in Auckland, New Zealand, in August 2008, in conjunction with VLDB 2008, the International Conference on Very Large Data Bases.

The keynote talk and the 10 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected for inclusion in the book. The papers discuss the major facets of business intelligence for the real-time enterprise, focusing on models and concepts, architectures, case-studies, and applications of and technologies for real-time enterprise business intelligence.
