There is an evident practice gap in education of general adult cardiologists on long-term management of congenital heart disease (CHD). The goal of this book is to help general cardiologists, but also pediatricians and related care providers in the management and diagnosis of adult CHD.

About the editors
Dr. DeFaria is a clinical adult congenital cardiologists, investigator and congenital echocardiographer. She has received the American Heart Association National Clinical Research Award, the Harvard Medical School Eleanor and Miles Shore Scholarship from the Department of Medicine, and the Clinician Teacher Development Award from the MGH Center for Diversity and Inclusion for her research efforts in the field of Adult Congenital Heart Disease and Pregnancy. She speaks nationally on topics of Adult Congenital Heart Disease and Pregnancy and was selected as one of the American College of Cardiology Emerging Faculty in 2012. She currently serves as the Associate Director of the MGH Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program and Co-Director of the MGH Cardiovascular Disease and Pregnancy Service.
Dr. Bhatt is an active clinical cardiologist, clinical investigator and educator. She has developed a robust multidisciplinary curriculum at Mass General to provide requisite ACHD education
to cardiovascular fellows throughout Massachusetts and served in national curriculum reform. She is lead author of the most recent Guidelines in Adult Congenital Heart Disease Management in the older adult as well as many high profile publications in ACHD. She was awarded the American College of Cardiology’s prestigious W. Proctor Harvey national Teaching Award in 2015. Dr Bhatt directs the Mass General ACHD Multidisciplinary meeting, a weekly case-based patient review and education session as well as a Harvard Medical School sponsored national CME course on Adult Congenital Heart Disease for the general cardiologist.Bibliographic Information
