About the editors
Matteo Dian is a Research Fellow at the School of Political Sciences of the University of Bologna. He received his PhD in political science from the Italian Institute of Human Sciences in Florence. Previously he was a Research Fellow at Ca’ Foscari University in Venice. His research deals with international relations theory, US foreign policy, Japanese and Chinese foreign policy, East Asia, and regionalism. He is the author of The Evolution of the US-Japan Alliance: The Eagle and the Chrysanthemum (Elsevier, 2014) and Contested Memories in Chinese and Japanese Foreign Policies (Elsevier, 2016) and co-editor of The Chinese Challenge to the Western Order (FBK Press, 2014).
Barbara Pisciotta is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the Roma Tre University, Italy, where she teaches International Relations, International Politics, and Democratization Processes. She is the author of books and many articles that focus in particular on the domestic and international sources of regime change in East and Central Europe.
