Abstract
The Korea Multi-purpose Accelerator Complex (KOMAC) provides proton beams with a designed 100 MeV energy. A resonance control cooling systems (RCCS) supplies the cooling water for 11 drift tube linac tanks. Each cooling water temperature is different depending on the characteristics of the drift tube linac tank. During the operation, we noted that the radio-frequency error rate is varied due to fluctuation in the temperature of the cooling water from the RCCS. In addition, other factors, including the limited range of hotside three-way valve control and a coldside three-way control valve step control phenomenon, were considered for hindering the radio-frequency stabilization. Various RCCS control methods were applied and examined to minimize the radio-frequency error. This paper describes the RCCS control method and the improved result adopted to maintain a stable radio-frequency.
