Abstract

In this paper, we study the time-independent Schr¨odinger equation within the formalism of a position-dependent effective mass. By using a generalized decomposition of a non-central effective potential, The deformed Schr¨odinger equation can be easily solved analytically through separation of variables. The energy eigenvalues and the normalization constant of the radial wave functions, as well as the scattering phase shifts are obtained.
