Abstract
The possibility that length of intertriai interval serves a reinforcement function was investigated by shifting ITI for two groups of fish, while holding ITI constant for their controls. ITI shift resulted in performance changes which could not be accounted for by either a reinforcement or a distribution of practice hypothesis. The possibility that a generalization decrement led to the changes was suggested.
