Abstract
Pigeons submitted to sessions of continuous reinforcement (CRF) and sessions of differential reinforcement of a low rate of responding (DRL 20 sec) attacked a restrained target pigeon during DRL 20 but not during CRF. Comparing these results to reviously reported data, it was suggested that reinforcement density, as well as the nonreinforced responses, contributed to the aggression elicited by intermittent schedules o f reinforcement.
