Abstract

Experimental investigations of the influence of the inclination angle on the properties of the fields of pressure fluctuations in front of forward-facing steps and behind backward-facing steps are conducted. The results showed that immediately in front of forward-facing step when changing the inclination angle from 90° (forward-facing step) up to 15° significant reduction of the spectral levels of pressure fluctuations in the field of small and medium Strouhal numbers is observed. Behind a inclined step, when reducing the angle from 90° (backward-facing step) up to 15° significant reduction of intensity in the maximum zone and redistribution of the spectral levels of pressure fluctuations in space are observed. The changing of the inclined angle also leads to changes in the degree of flow interconnection as in front of forward-facing steps and behind backward-facing steps.
