Influence of fluid film on friction of a flat plate

Abstract

The steady flow over a flat semi-infinite plate inclined to the horizon and having a thin fluid film on the surface is studied. The mathematical model of the film and laminar boundary layer is proposed. The basic characteristics of the process are determined. Reduction of friction stresses is observed.
